Barcelona midfielder Alex song returns to Barcelona after failing to secure a move to West Ham. A move is still a possibility, however, with the midfielder training alone as the Catalan giants seek to sell him.

Barcelona midfielder Alex song has returned to Barcelona after so far failing to secure a move to West Ham, reports the Mirror, with Neymar confirming as much via a post on his Instagram account.
The midfielder spent last season on loan at the Hammers and enjoyed a fine campaign at Upton Park, with the ex-Arsenal man settling quickly back in Premier League surroundings.
It had been thought that he would complete a permanent move this summer, with negotiations having been ongoing for some time - but a deal is yet to be struck.
As a result, he has been forced to return to Spain with the La Liga champions, although it is clearly not ideal, with the Mirror reporting that he is training alone as Barcelona look to move him on.
With the transfer window set to close on Tuesday, the Hammers are certainly leaving it late should they be interested in bringing him back permanently, with comments from the club certainly suggesting that is still in their thoughts.
However, one potential problem holding up the deal could be his current fitness status, with the Daily Mail reporting that he has a piece of floating bone in his knee which may require surgery and leave him absent for three months.
If that is the case, perhaps Slaven Bilic’s side are leaving it as late as possible to make sure of his long term fitness before agreeing to a deal.
Will West Ham complete a deal for Alex Song before the end of the transfer window?
